AUGUST 4 11 a.m. (to be offered 8/25 as well) Drum Talk In the spirit of the African tradition, the National Great Blacks In Wax Museum, in partnership with the Growing Griots Literacy Learning Program, a youth development initiative of the Griots' Circle of Maryland, and Discover ME/Recover ME will present "Drum Talk." Campers learn and practice how the percussion sound can be created using the body, voice or household items. All in all, Camp Baltimore children will have a lively and fun time filled with stories, music and rhythm. Grades K-5
AUGUST 5 11 a.m. Creating a Tropical Terrarium Learn how to create your own tropical terrarium! Supplies include all necessary planting materials, two mini tropical plants, dinosaur toys and other natural decorative elements. Attendees will learn the basics of tropical plants, with a focus on their natural environment. Ages 3-6 with parental assistance or ages 6-12 without parental assistance. Space is limited.
AUGUST 6 11 a.m. The Shape of Speed Step aboard Pride of Baltimore II and learn what it takes to navigate the waters of the Chesapeake Bay! Join our crew for an interactive STEM-H workshop exploring what it takes to make a ship go fast, the science behind ship design and how the Chesapeake Bay has become a superhighway for commerce. Ages 11+
AUGUST 11 2 p.m. Babe Ruth Museum Learn about the history of Maryland sports, including Babe Ruth, our Baltimore Orioles, the Ravens and more. The Babe Ruth Museum will share artifacts from local athletes who have gone onto big things, from major league careers to the Olympics. Ages 10+
AUGUST 12 11 a.m. Fastest Train in the World Learn about the B&O Railroad Museum's partnership with Northeast Maglev through a video and demonstration. Explore the future of transportation at super speeds while learning about the fun of magnets. Activity: Magnet races and magnet fishing. Grades 3-6
AUGUST 13 12 p.m. Urban Pirates Story Time Yo! Ho! Ho! Learn about Pirate Tales with the one and only Swashbuckling Silver Ann! Ages 2-10
AUGUST 18 11 a.m. Animal Encounter with the National Aquarium Join the National Aquarium's animal care staff as they introduce you to one of their scaled, clawed or feathered friends and answer questions about what it takes to care for the 20,000 individual animals that make the National Aquarium their home. Tools Needed: at least two sheets of standard sized paper, pencil, and eraser. Good for all ages
AUGUST 19 2 p.m. Theater Games Spend an hour with the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company teaching artists leading virtual games, physical & vocal warm-ups, and improv exercises all based around Shakespearean texts and themes. Grades 2-9
AUGUST 20 1 p.m. Now entering the Big Top! Join professional knucklehead and silly scientist Gregory May on a tour of the scientific principles behind his circus skills. As a former Ringling Brothers Circus performer and Port Discovery Children's Museum educator, Gregory uses juggling, rolling globe walking, lasso spinning and other amazing tricks to explore Newton's Laws, Gyroscopic Motion and Center of Gravity. It's a wild ride for the entire family! Grades Pre-K-5

AUGUST 26 11:30 a.m. Beginner Cooking Lesson Chef Egg is back with another interactive, virtual cooking presentation! This time he'll be creating Blue Moon Cafe's legendary Capt Crunch French Toast. Good for all ages (Adult supervision required for grade 6 or below). An ingredient and equipment list will be sent in advance.
AUGUST 27 2 p.m. Science Time Eric Energy's virtual show will include dynamic science experiments, music and movement. Everyone will have a front row seat and see closeups of the experiments. Eric Energy's assistants (his kids) will help and he will encourage audience participation throughout. Kids will be encouraged to stand, jump, dance and repeat important science facts. After the show, the kids can access experiments that they can do from home on the Eric Energy website. Grades K-8
